Lawsuits Filed Against Crypto Sellers
Class action lawsuits were recently filed against Binance, Civic, BProtocol, Status, Block.one, KayDex, Quantstamp, BiBox, TRON Foundation, KuCoin and HDR Global Trading (the BitMEX exchange).
The companies are each accused of selling crypto tokens that were actually unregistered securities. The cases were filed in federal district court in Manhattan (Southern District of New York) and allege violations of U.S. federal and state securities laws.
According to the accusations (in a nutshell), the issuers violated registrations requirements, while token exchanges violated exchange and broker-dealer registration requirements.
